about ViaIP

ViaIP’s roots began in a dusty old warehouse in Sydney’s inner west in 1998 with a tiny data centre facility based out of a demountable cooling room. Today ViaIP is capable of offering national and global IP services bringing together networks, security and IP services into one managed platform.

company history

In 1998 as a systems integrator, the business was set up to supply medium sized enterprises with professional services and IT procurement. As part of the offering, dialup internet services using Cisco 3620 series routers were provided. By the time ADSL and broadband technologies arrived in Australia, the company had a small but loyal customer base of over 2000 business users.

In 2001 a dedicated network services department was created deploying Virtual Private Network’s over broadband or similar technologies. The client base was converted to a Tier 2 Australian ISP, and managed services such as firewall security, email security and user reporting became the focus. In 2004 a dedicated company called Managed Internet and Security Solutions was launched to address the emerging MSP market. Plans to take greater control of the IP network were already underway, with national end to end services for converged business grade networks with end to end QoS on the horizon.

Points of Presence were deployed Australia wide to enable local termination of services for the various best of breed providers. Strategic agreements with most of the major last mile carriers including Telstra, Optus, Uecomm, Nextstep, Pipe, DDA and Big Air, give the ability to aggregate services back to our MPLS core network, providing more granular control and enabling greater flexibility for clients

On 5 July 2008, the company was rebranded to ViaIP to better encompass our corporate philosophy:

ViaIP, We Deliver

Our dynamic, high speed, Cisco powered network enables tailor made solutions for all levels of business requiring reliable converged networks.

Highest possible speeds are provided ranging from 1Mbps – 10Gbps at affordable rates. This enables the adoption of higher speed services by clients for voice, video, data.

ViaIP now delivers IP services to a variety of medium and large corporations including Governments, Charities and Commercial entities. ViaIP’s core network supports 10Gbps metro Ethernet services with plans to support 40Gbps and 100Gbps services in the near future. With Tier 1 data center presence Australia wide and direct links to overseas facilities, ViaIP is capable of addressing any business requirement today and tomorrow.
